300 hour advanced yoga teacher training for women
Empowering the Feminine Voice in the World is a 300 hour advanced yoga teacher training from The Feminine Path Of Yoga, a school dedicated to the empowerment of women through yoga, led by Lorraine Taylor.
Nine modules covering a feminine approach to yoga sadhana, five elements, nature based practices, tantric philosophy, trauma informed teaching, ayurveda, voice work, somatic movement, embodied anatomy and feminine wisdom traditions shape the curriculum into a unique offering for women on the yoga path.
The elemental modules are offered as 30 hour in person immersions at beautiful eco friendly retreat venues across the south west of England so there is time to be together in community. Each 30 hour module is available on its own as a stand alone course with YACEP certification, or woven into the 300 hour Yoga Alliance qualification as part of the advanced training.
These modules are open to all women who have a calling to this particular work and places are offered by invitation. To join, you will have a short call with Lorraine, to ask any questions you have and to see whether this is the right immersion for you.
Applications are now open for our 30 hour Water Module with Lorraine and Eliza Hope Kenyon starting 4-7th September 2026.
The 12th Century Chapel yoga hall at the beautiful Erth Retreat in Cornwall
This training is not simply about gaining another qualification.
It is an invitation to deepen your relationship with yoga, yourself and discover your authentic voice as a teacher.

What the four days together feel like
-
In the first week of September, we gather at Erth, a historic riverside retreat sitting on its own private peninsula in Cornwall. A truly incredible place that has been featured in Conde Nast Traveller, The Guardian and House & Garden for UK Best Wellness Retreats 2026. Around the house there are 300 acres of regenerative farm and wild oak woodland holding the place in proper quiet with wild flowers, buzzards, skylarks, swallows, geese, fallow deer and owls in the trees at night. The River Lynher curves around both sides of the land and breathes in and out twice a day with the tide. As you drive onto the peninsula, it really feels like you enter another world. One of the best spots we have found for our training immersions.
-
We begin each morning with our feminine yoga sadhana (practice) in the 12th century chapel that is now the yoga space. The water element brings an undulating quality to our postures and the energy of the breath flows unhindered, making meditation a natural place of reflection. So much of modern yoga can be forcing and pushing with a competitive drive but here you will be asked to listen quietly and surrender to the fluidity of the feminine form. Interwoven with poetry, sutras and creativity, the practice takes you on a journey into the depths of yourself.
-
We gather at midday to explore the feminine more deeply through poetry, myths, sutras and our own shared experiences. We read what the mystical Bhakti Yoginis shared, alongside the modern day poetesses and we peek into the nectar of tantric philosophy.
These afternoons are also where we sit with the art of teaching, exploring different topics and questions around alignment, creative sequencing to more subtle aspects like the importance of transmission through a teacher’s voice. -
There is a long break in the middle of the afternoon for you to do whatever you need. You might walk along the river, enjoy an afternoon snack, nap in the garden or simply lie on your back and find beauty in the art of doing nothing. All of it counts as this is where we actually get to bring yoga into daily life.
-
In the afternoon, Eliza will take us on a journey into transformational voice work. Toning, sounding, singing, bathing in harmonies and resting into the sweet echo of silence. There will be gentle movement and dance threading sound and the body together. This is a practice for women coming back to their own voices as living instruments after moments of being stifled, shut down or quietly silenced. We need our voices back and Eliza's work is one of the most honest ways to begin that return.
-
The evenings at Erth move a bit slower as we gently wind down for the day. We share food, we rest, we talk and there is quite often a fire under the stars to sit around. There is time to journal or to sit quietly with yourself, to read your book under the moon or share poetry with a friend. There is early to bed or time alone if you would rather and time with the other women if you would not. It’s completely up to you how you wish to end your day.
-
You will possibly leave with new ways of moving your body, a different relationship with your own voice and maybe some poetry has crept under your skin. You may also have found some lovely new friendships as these quite often form when women have been held in a good space together. Plus new inspiration for your yoga classes, personal practice and very possibly a deeper connection to nature and in particular, the element of water.
chef Kate Kensa
Kate’s kitchen is her focal spiritual practice and her shala. A well seasoned retreat chef who crafts meals to enhance and enrich the work we do on the mat.
Her food is delicious, nourishing and comforting. Her ethics and philosophy inspire her to choose ingredients and produce from local, organic, small producer initiatives and create a microeconomy in line with the teachings of the yamas.
Dotted liberally with her own ferments, foraged wild treats, each bite she puts in front of us will feel like a gift to sustain and inspire us during our work and leave a happy footprint behind us.
Your Typical Schedule

We explore the feminine voice through mystical poetry, myth, stories and tantric philosophy looking at the historical roots of yoga and wise women throughout time. We will also discuss topics such as embodiment, holding space and how to find your own alignment. Using water as our guide, we will be exploring how to craft creative sequences and find the fluidity in our body, breath and mind.
-
Afternoons include space for rest, reflection and personal time. A perfect time to journal, explore the surrounding nature, swim in the river or simply relax.
-
These sessions offer a brave, non-judgemental and playful space to explore freeing our authentic voices. There will be toning, sounding, singing, dancing and resting into the sweet echo of silence while attuning to the water element and the voice of the river within.

Water Flows
Water does not resist. Water flows. When you plunge your hand into it, all you feel is a caress.
Water is not a solid wall, it will not stop you But water always goes where it wants to go,
& nothing in the end can stand against it. Water is patient. Dripping water wears away a stone. Remember that, my child. Remember you are half water. If you can’t go through an obstacle,
go around it. Water does.
